What is BITSAT..?

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is an entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. This computer-based test evaluates a candidate’s proficiency in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning.

BITSAT comprises multiple-choice questions, allowing candidates to choose the correct answer from given options. It’s structured to assess a candidate’s problem-solving ability and understanding of fundamental concepts. With its rigorous syllabus, BITSAT demands a solid grasp of topics covered in the 11th and 12th-grade NCERT syllabus or its equivalent.

BITSAT: Eligibility Criteria

• Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination from a recognized board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For B.Pharm, candidates with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are also eligible.
• Minimum Marks: Candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in 12th grade, with at least 60% in each subject.

BITSAT: Admission Process

• Application: Candidates need to apply for BITSAT online by registering on the official website, filling in the application form, and paying the requisite fee.
• Exam: After successful application, candidates have to book their exam slot. The exam is conducted online and tests the candidate’s proficiency in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning.
• Counseling and Admission: Based on their performance in BITSAT, candidates are called for counseling and admission rounds. The seat allotment depends on the candidate’s score in BITSAT and their preferences for courses and campuses.

BITSAT: Registration Process

• BITSAT Application Form: Completed application form with all necessary details filled in accurately.
• Photograph and Signature: Recent passport-size photograph and a scanned copy of your signature as per the prescribed format and size.
• Identification Proof: Valid government-issued ID proof like Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License.
• Date of Birth Proof: Birth certificate or any other official document verifying your date of birth.
• Educational Qualification Documents: Marksheets and certificates of 10th and 12th standard or equivalent exams, depending on the requirements specified by BITS Pilani.
• Application Fee Payment Proof: Receipt or transaction ID confirming the payment of the application fee.
• BITSAT Admit Card: Admit card/hall ticket downloaded from the official BITSAT website. This is crucial for entry into the examination hall.
• COVID-19 Guidelines (if applicable): Considering the situation, candidates might need to carry vaccination certificates or adhere to specific COVID-19 safety protocols as instructed by the examination authorities.
• Other Specific Documents: Any other documents or certificates related to specific categories (if applying under any reserved category) may be required for verification purposes.

BITSAT: Document List

• Photograph: A recent passport-sized color photograph in JPEG format. The photograph should have a white background and the candidate’s face should be clearly visible.
• Signature: A scanned copy of the candidate’s signature in JPEG format.
• 12th Standard Mark Sheet: Scanned copy of the 12th standard qualifying examination mark sheet.
• BITSAT Scorecard: If available at the time of application.
• Identity Proof: Sometimes, a government-issued identity proof might be required.
